After the Wellness Ziva, a place out of this world where you can enjoy a fantastic view over Lake Bled from inside a bubbling jacuzzi, today I bring you to another of my absolute favorite places on earth: Bjärred’s Saltsjöbad Kallbadhus, also known as “Långabryggan”.

What’s so special about this place?

Originally just a pier -possibly the longest in Sweden! now at the end of it some 600m from shore there’s an open air bath and sauna, and a restaurant.

There are a lot of nice saunas around the world, and this according to me is certainly among the ones with the best view: facing the open sea, you can glance at it and at the Öresund’s bridge from the big windows.

The same view can be enjoyed when leaving the steaming sauna to dive directly into the cool swedish sea, and the amazing feeling you will get from diving your steaming body into the cold water will only be beaten by the one you will get when you will come out of the water and find yourself in such a peaceful environment, with only the sound of the waves and the wind surrounding you.

After the sauna and the invigorating bath, you can take a shower at the facility, and have a succulent swedish dinner without even leaving the pier!

Even if it’s located some 600 m from shores, allowing you all the privacy you need, 

you can still touch the bottom of the sea, as the water there is very shallow.

The sauna is separate for men and women.

Swedes like to enjoy every ray of sun they can get, that’s why the Restaurant is also of course built in swedish style,

with giant windows wherever possible instead of walls, to ensure you enjoy the sun and the view as much as possible.

Bjärred is a small village in Malmö’s countryside, just 20 minutes by bike away from Lomma.

But not only that, it’s the place I called home for a year when I lived in Sweden
