21 Aug LOMMA BEACH Posted at 19:01h in What to do by Pamela Goding 2 Comments Share In the previous post I introduced you to not only one but six great reasons to visit Sweden this summer, the first of these were the incredibly beautiful beaches of Scandinavia. Today I bring you to Lomma Beach, one of my favorite beaches in the South of the country. Lomma beach is white, so white that it has nothing to envy to the exotic beaches around the world. Calm and quiet, it’s the perfect spot to hide in during the sunny swedish afternoons with a book, and sometimes a plaid. The Northern sea of the Kattegat strait is quite cold and may freeze during wintertime, but in summer is warm enough to permit a quick bath, especially in Lomma when the water is very shallow and warms up good. If you are a sporty person, Lomma beach is very famous as a windsurf and kitesurf spot. In fact, there is even a surf school where you can rent the equipment or take lessons. with its white sand and relaxed atmosphere it seems like being in the Hamptons now excuse me for sharing a toilet picture, but isn’t it the cutest toilet you’ve ever seen?? And the inside was as cute and clean, and without any doubt the most efficient and organized beach toilet I’ve ever peed in.. Lomma is not only the beach though: a small and picturesque village developes around the beach and the marina, with plenty of cute shops, cafès, restaurants and ice cream kiosks. My favorite one is Fiskboden on the Harbor quay: what makes is so special is that it’s mainly a fish shop where locals buy the fish for their dinner, plus they have a very cute restaurant area where you can sit both in and outside. I think this very genuine concept makes of it a one of a kind place in the world. a very old house turned into an ice-cream kiosk Lomma marina mouthwatering swedish food HOW TO REACH LOMMA Lomma is well connected to 2 of the most important swedish cities: from Lund, the university students’ city with the bus nr. 139, and from Malmö with bus nr. 133. You can also reach it by bike as we did, see where and how to hire a bike here. WHERE TO STAY IN LOMMA Some very nice and characteristic accommodation are available in Lomma, such as Borgeby Gårdshotell, Gröna Frun’s B&B, Flädie Mat & Vingård, but as a nature lover and for a total Lomma beach experience I would choose the Habo Ljung Camping, as many swedes do!
