ALBEROBELLO: TRULLI AMAZING

01 Dec ALBEROBELLO: TRULLI AMAZING

ALBEROBELLO-TRULLI-AMAZING

There’s a place in Southern Italy, in Puglia region, that looks like come out of a magical world.

It’s Alberobello, the village made of trulli.

I’ve seen plenty of pictures of this weird yet fascinating place, but walking among the little trulli houses was something incredibly special!

Trulli are these huts made of dry stone and with a conical roof  typical of the Valle d’Itria region in Puglia.

I thought these funny buildings could be only found in the village of Alberobello, but they are scattered a bit everywhere in this beautiful region!

Alberobello is indeed so special and famous because it’s a whole village built almost entirely in trulli, and walking among its charming little streets feels a bit like walking in the Smurfs’ village :)

It’s basically divided in two parts: Monti and Aia Piccola. The first very turistic, but also the most famous and visited, the second one genuine and secluded.

Many of the trulli are still inhabited, and some are even visitable, but most of them are nowadays gift shops or tasting huts.

Speaking of, I highly recommend to stop at enoteca Tholos for a tasting break or even to take some delicious typical products at home or to give to friends and family!

Peak season in Alberobello is without any doubt summer, when the blue sky stands against the white and grey of the trulli, but during fall I found Alberobello even more enchanting, with the colors of the leaves, the fall decorations, the lights and the beautiful fall sky as background! Don’t you think? :)

The whole tour, that brought us to Bari, Ostuni, Alberobello and Matera has been completely organized by Italica Incoming.

I can’t wait to post something about the other destinations as well! :)

Have you ever visited Alberobello?

Hi Anna! It is indeed!! I’ve seen myself a lot of pictures online, that’s why I was dying to get there, but seeing the place with your eyes and walk in those beautiful alleys is something special, believe me :)
