This weekend I had the opportunity to take part to something very original: a truistic tour of Trieste with “le Vie delle Foto“.
So what’s “le Vie delle Foto“?
“le Vie delle Foto” is a collective photographic exhibition, the biggest in Northeaster Italy to be more precise, that gathers the work of more than 40 photographers, spread in just as many bars in Trieste.
What is great about this initiative it’s that you can choose to visit it independently, or with a guide, who not only explains to you the artwork and the author but also takes you around town in a guided tour that is in every respect a turistic one.
While I think the second one is perfect for tourists, it’s actually the one I chose, ending in discovering a lot of things I didn’t know about my own town!
The guided tour starts from the Wind shop in Piazza Unità (the main square of Trieste), inside the shop you will find an info point and a ticket booth to purchase the tickets, which costs 5,00 EUR for a 2,5 hours tour.
If you choose to do it independently the access to the venues is free, of course.
This idea of creating a photo exhibition that developes not only around town, but also taking you inside the bars is great according to me, cause this way you really get to experience the genuine soul of the city.
In the pictures I could take during the tour I want to take you with me following the exhibition path, but not only: I want you to feel the warmth of places so dear to locals as well as corners of my home town, which I learnt to appreciate even more!
