15 Jun WHAT TO DO IN SANTORINI: BOAT TOUR WITH SUNSET OIA

SUNSET OIA BOAT DAY TOUR 5 HOURS SANTORINI-7

OK so Santorini is not a beach place.

This doesn’t mean your are going to watch the sea only from your infinity pool: one of the things I liked the most of Santorini was experiencing it from the deck of a boat!

In the island you have many companies offering boat tours, at really affordable rates or very luxurious, depending on your taste and budget. I’m sure the private tour on luxurious yachts can be a lifetime’s experience, but we chose one of the cheapest tours and really had an unforgettable time.

Among the others, we chose the “Sunset Oia” catamaran 5 hours day tour.

The tour starts at 10.00 sailing from Ammoudi bay in Oia. We had been easily picked up at our hotel and brought at embarkation point by one of their vans.

Once on board the catamaran, which is really clean and well kept, the crew takes you first to the hot springs, a small bay in the “palea kameni” one of the two lavic islands located in the Caldera.

There you can bath in the water heated by what remains of the volcano, together with another million turists.

I took a brief bath then recovered on the boat to relax on deck under the greek sun while Gio and a bunch of indonesian soaked long into the hot water :)

After that, the crew direct the boat further out meanwhile you can relax, chat with the other guests, sunbath and enjoy the stunning view caressed by the sea breeze.

After the hot springs the next stops are the two most famous beaches of Santorini: white and red beach. The catamaran stops at both, and you can easily swim to the beach, although I preferred to snorkel a while in deep sea looking for fishes :)

The two beaches are nothing special, the island really isn’t known for its beaches.

There the catamaran stops long and the crew grills and prepare a lot of greek delights for the guests!

It’s all included in the price!

We chose the day tour cause we had other plans for the evening, but you can even choose the “sunset tour” on which you can enjoy the famous Santorini sunset from the sea!

The tour costed 80€ each, and I’m incredibly satisfied and would recommend it as a top must-do when visiting Santorini!

At 15.00 we landed with a huge smile on the face and once back in Imerovigli we hired a quad and got lost in the island having one of the best moments of my entire life!

Coming next!
