06 Nov A BLONDE GUIDE TO: ROME Posted at 19:00h in Travel blog, What to do by Pamela Goding 8 Comments Share Rome. No other city in the world has the same charme, Rome is perfect to be visited in every season: in fall framed in the amazing colors of the leaves, during Xmas all decorated for the holidays, in the perfect temperature of spring and even during the warmer months of summer. To visit Rome you could take a few days up to months, as many are the things to do and see in this fantastic timeless city. This guide aim to help you discover it in just a few days, having regard of the main attractions as well as the most enchanted and hidden corners, and in a very girly way, as I like to do THE COLOSSEUM AND THE IMPERIAL FORA Walking among history in the long promenade that from Piazza Venezia takes you to the Colosseum is a total must once in Rome. Simply walking beside these historical monuments is already enchanting, but you can visit both inside if you wish. PIAZZA DI SPAGNA Piazza di Spagna is one of my favorite places on earth. It’s utterly romantic, and perfect to be visited with your other half. Street musicians seems to play for you as the sunset happen, and rose sellers are everywhere. And in case you need it, Tiffany is just round the corner 😉 VIA DEI CONDOTTI Via dei Condotti is that glamorous street that from Piazza di Spagna takes you towards the river Tevere. Is without any doubt one of the most elegant streets in the World, and one after another you can find a parade of Gucci, Louis Vuitton, Prada, Valentino, and many other dreamy boutiques. A Heaven for girls, a nightmare for boys 😉 TREVI FOUNTAIN The Trevi fountain is a masterpiece. Such is its beauty that tourists flocks night and day near this artistic fountain. Take a good shoot at the Trevi fountain can be a challenge, I can advice getting there very early in the morning or very late night, otherwise you can always get a side shoot, as we did in the above picture Good luck with it! PIAZZA NAVONA Another square definitely worth a stop is Piazza Navona: there you can admire many street artists performing their arts, and enjoy an ice-cream at the beautiful and romantic Nettuno fountain! VIA MARGUTTA Via Margutta lies a few steps away from Piazza di Spagna, and it’s an incredibly beautiful street so dear to many great personalities, from directors to actors and artists. Appeared in movies such “Roman Holiday” with Audrey Hepburn, Via Margutta is essentially a jasmine and ivy tunnel, where fancy restaurants and little boutiques thrive. A walk in this enchanting street is a must to breathe the magical atmosphere of this eternal city and will give you great shooting opportunity! A WALK BY THE RIVER TEVERE Have you watched the movie “the great beauty”? Its main character, Jep Gambardella used to walk by the river Tevere in the roman mornings. The river Tevere is a city river, and it’s not a very beautiful river itself, but walking by its sides gives you great glimpses, and in summertime can be very refreshing! THE VATICAN Don’t miss a visit to the Vatican, even if just from the outside! In certain hours and days the Pope talks, and every day you can witness and mock its swiss guards by the gates 😀 NIGHTLIFE Nightime in Rome is lively and romantic, but it’s not only for couples! We had a lot of fun visiting during nighttime, from bar to bar, mingling with the locals! The Spritz Aperol is of course the national drink here, especially in summertime. The best restaurants and bars according to us are all located in the area near Piazza di Spagna. DISCOVER THE SURROUNDINGS The villages near Rome are incredibly pretty and with untouched traditions. Get a rental car and get lost in the countryside for a day, or more! A curiosity: did you know that you can even buy a used car from Hertz Rent2Buy? A great option for the ones of you that intend to stay in Europe much longer!
