TOP 5 DESTINATIONS TO ESCAPE TO THIS FALL/WINTER

posted in: Travel diaries | 18

As summer is slowly fading away and my Instagram is becoming cozier and more fall shaded, I’m tickled by an incredible wanderlust feeling as always this time of the year.

I can’t stop day dreaming about autumn long weekends in the foggy eastern-Europe capitals, trekking in red and yellow landscapes, snowy unexplored destinatons and even some exotic beaches where to escape to during the most boring winter months.

I’m sure you are probably dealing with the same problem, so I thought of sharing a list of my top 5 destinations worldwide, to which one would you like to escape to this fall/winter?

STOCKHOLM

WHAT TO DO IN STOCKHOLM A BLONDE AROUND THE WORLD-2

You know that Sweden has a special place in my heart, so Stockholm couldn’t rank less than the first place on this list.

It’s one of my absolute favorite cities in the whole world, and while there’s so much to do and see during summertime, there’s exactly as much in fall and winter time.

Last year me and my bestfriend flew there during Halloween and had a blast partying and soaking our happy bodies into the city’s coolest rootfop pool.

A dedicated post is actually under construction!

THE GRAND CANYON

GRAND CANYON BLOG-17

Peak season for the Grand Canyon is actually around spring-summer, but I visited during wintertime earlier this year and loved the lack of crowd, the mountan-y feeling and the patches of snow on the ground.

I was actually hoping to see a white canyon covered in snow, but wasn’t that lucky.

It had the perfect temperature as well, as it was pretty cold during nights and mornings, but heated up really good during the days, allowing me to wear just a raindeer jumper and a lumberjack’s hat :)

LAKE BLED

LAKE BLED TRAVEL BLOG A BLONDE AROUND THE WORLD-26
One of my dreams is to visit lake Bled in every season. I visited already in spring and autumn, and especially last autumn, when I discovered a place that immediately became one of my absolute favorites in the entire world: the Wellness Ziva where you can spend an afternoon pampering yourself between saunas and steam baths, but their best feature is the outdoors jacuzzi overlooking the lake, the castle, the woods and the Alps.

Can you imagine a better frame?

NEW YORK

NEW YORK TRAVEL BLOG A BLONDE AROUND THE WORLD-1

New York is a top destination all year around and it’s one of the most beautiful and visited cities in the entire world.

I visited it a few years ago in November, and I loved the yellow and red shades of Central park, the crisp air, the smoke in the trafficated streets, and the ice rinks.

Fall and winter might be just the right time to visit this fantastic and eclectic city, especially during Xmas with all the lights and decorations, for a perfect “Home Alone2″ feeling!

BALI

BALI TRAVEL BLOG A BLONDE AROUND THE WORLD-2

Bali is the perfect island to escape to during wintertime.

Although rain season goes from November to February, it’s OK to visit it during fall before December as it doesn’t rain that much, and if you visit it during rain season you could get a lot of off season deals!

Which one is your favorite fall/winter destination?

To which of the above would you rather escape this fall/winter?

  3. One of my best friends just moved to Arizona, so I’m hoping to visit her and take a trip to the Grand Canyon this winter! I was in NYC in January of this year and it was too cold to do some of the things I wanted to (Central Park in particular) so I think I need to visit again in the summer!

  12. I did one of these lists last week and regret not putting Lake Bled on it – it’s bloody lovely! I’ve been twice, both in summer and would recommend it in the heat for a swim and a row in the lake.
