WHERE TO SPEND HALLOWEEN? TRY STOCKHOLM!

The best city to spend Halloween in?

If you’d ask me, that would be -again- Stockholm!

Breathtakingly beautiful, with tons of stuff to do, with a vibrant nightlife and home to the most beautiful girls in the world.

Seriously, what more do you need?

Halloween as you know has its root in the Anglo-Saxon tradition, and it’s celebrated the 31st October. In Sweden this tradition has a bit of a different temporary placement: Swedes celebrate “Alla Helgons Afton” which is celebrated the saturday between the 31st October and the 6th November. They also celebrate Halloween on the 31st, so the festivities are somehow doubled and that can only lead to something good: in this period of the year it is common to decorate the houses with pumpkin styled stuff, bake pumpkin food but above all party!

During the Halloween and Alla Helgons Afton’s nights Swedes like to dress up “appropriately” and hit the party scene!

Don’t feel silly dressing up, they play hard, and in most places there are competitions with prizes for the best dressed!

I visited Stockholm during this period a couple of years ago, and ended up dancing at the Pure Nightclub, here are some pictures of that very night borrowed from the website finest.se.

The above picture depicts me, one of my dearest friends and a guy we met at the hostel, which we kept calling Sasha never mind his name was something completely different.

Here you can go to the original picture on the hosting website to have a look at the names we gave to the place’s photographer.

It was absolutely one of the funniest nights of my life!

So what do you say?

Will you spend next year’s Halloween in Stockholm or already searching last minutes deals for tomorrow? :)

  1. Love the photos, and the costume! I’d love to spend Halloween in Stockholm, it’s got such a beautiful yet gothic quality at night. One of my favourite cities! Ahem. Wish I was there.

Me too Shing! I think we definitely share the same love for the North :)

  3. Maybe I am not exactly looking for tickets tomorrow Pam, but I always wanted to visit Stockholm anyway. For me personally New York City was always the best place for Halloween, but maybe I should give Stockholm a chance as well. At least now you gave me one more reason to visit… :)
